There are several elements to a party planning checklist. Many people do not even realize that
they are making a list for their party when they are doing, and others make a list and leave off several key components. In order to even start planning a party you must first plan the date, location, time, and most importantly the budget that you have to work with. Once you have the beginning elements down it is time to get into the thick of actual party planning. Your list should have several portions to it, and each portion should have a small set of instructions to go with it.
The first portion of your party planning checklist should be your guest list. Now how many people you invite will be determined by what type of party you are planning, either one for just family, or one for family and friends. Another determining factor in your guest list is your budget. You do not want to invite more people than you are planning on feeding. Now that you have your guest list put together, it is time to buy or make the invitations and get them sent out in the mail in plenty of time for your guests to make arrangements if needed so that they can make it to the party.
The second portion of the party planning checklist is going to be what type and how much food you are going to provide for your guests. The type of food is once again determined by what type of party it is going to be and what your budget is. If you are having family over most likely you will be serving them a full diner plus desert. On the other hand if you are having friends over you might be looking at something a little less formal like finger foods.
Now you will also have to determine if you will be serving alcohol at your party or not. Now that you have the first two portions of your party planning checklist completed, the final element is the decorations. If you are throwing a birthday party particularly for a child it will be expected that there will be some sort of decorations. An adult party might have decorations, which would not only be determined by your budget, but also if there is a theme to your party.
Now that you have all the key elements of your party planning checklist completed it is time to have the party, enjoy and have fun.
